Darren Darlow
Church Worker
Darren is a lay minister, married to Lorraine, a children & families pastor, and they have four daughters and one son. He grew up in Kent but has lived in Scotland since 1989. Darren loves being a husband and a dad and believes that the church has a huge amount to offer families at all ages and stages.
Being convinced that the Church needs to be real, relevant and radical in how it does church, he is passionate about seeing our church realise its 'priority' values. He believes that God is active in the lives of people and seeks by His love and power to bring healing, restoration and transformation.
Darren loves sport and sees sports ministry as a relevant contemporary tool that helps connect with people in everyday life and says, "It is a way of developing meaningful relationships and purposeful fellowship that fosters nurturing and inclusive community."
Darren is responsible for developing the spiritual life of the church and leading our mission work, as well as managing our football team. He says, "The Church is called to 'go' to people, not to invite them in, and too much of our energy is lost in inlooking rather than outworking. Church can be inviting, in the welcoming sense, and indeed that is very important, but the essense of Church is mission and we must never loose sight of that. If we keep our house in order, pursuing all that God has planned and purposed for us, then our eyes will be fixed on God and the missiological task He has set before us."
